For more than 50 years, Cardel Homes has been building some of Calgary’s most outstanding homes and communities, but 2025 may mark one of their biggest years in the market yet.
With the introduction of the dynamic new community of Silverton, the unveiling of the ambitious Metro One multi-family complex over the last couple of months, and the opening of several new showhomes throughout the Calgary region, Cardel Homes was already headed for a remarkable year of accomplishments. Now they are capping 2025 off with Acadia Park, a project that promises to introduce a whole new way to enjoy life in a thriving, well-established neighbourhood.
Acadia Park is located in the heart of the mature southeast community of Acadia and provides an easy, economical way to live in this highly desired residential area without having to buy resale or go through the process of building a custom home.
“It is an opportunity to own a new product in a popular, established neighbourhood,” says Cardel Homes Marketing Manager, Jessica Mix.
Acadia Park is a unique, small-scale infill development (1.5 acres) within the established community of Acadia. It sits on the corner of Alderwood Close and 6th St SE, directly adjacent to the existing Allandale Close Park and playground.
The project offers 19 of Cardel’s popular Midtown 1 and Midtown 2 models. There are 18 paired homes and one single-family option, ranging from 1,452 to 1,634 square feet. All homes include a fully developed one-bedroom basement secondary suite, a double detached garage, and fully landscaped yards complete with concrete patio and fencing.
Nine of the homes front onto Alderwood Close, providing ample street parking, while 10 homes front directly onto Allandale Close Park, offering a truly unique location experience for this product segment, Mix adds.
“All units are complete and can be toured through our open houses or by booking an appointment with the sales team,” she says. “One unit will be partially staged to allow customers to envision what’s possible within.”
Acadia Park began sales in late summer this year and has already proven to be a hit, with 25 per cent of homes sold.
Cardel’s Midtown 1 and 2 models are top sellers in this segment because buyers love the functional floorplans and premium curb appeal, Mix says.
These homes include upgraded features such as 9-foot ceilings on the main floor and basement; premium luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring throughout the main level; large kitchens with islands and pantry storage; quartz countertops; tiled bathroom floors; Samsung appliances; and extensive landscaping.
The architectural styling and overall curb appeal are exceptional, featuring integrated hardboard siding. The basement secondary suites include a private side-yard entrance and upgraded LVP stairwell.
Both suite designs offer a bright and functional kitchen, large living area, and spacious bedroom with a walk-in closet. Suites range from 571 to 637 square feet.
First-time homebuyers can usually only afford new-build homes in newer suburbs farther from the city centre, but Acadia Park provides the opportunity to live in a new home closer to downtown.
“The pricing is very attractive, starting at $739,900 including GST,” Mix adds. It appeals to a wide range of buyers. “First-time homebuyers can save on the GST if they qualify for the government program. We have also seen interest from downsizers and rental investors because of the great location and secondary suite benefit.”
Acadia Park appeals to anyone seeking a relatively affordable, brand-new opportunity in a popular, established SE neighbourhood, with no condo fees and strong potential for market appreciation given its unique product offering.
“The homes are included in Cardel’s Fall Sales event, so interested parties are encouraged to inquire about year-end incentives that might be available,” she notes.
With a multitude of developments underway, Cardel Homes remains confident in Calgary’s continued growth.
“Calgary remains one of Canada’s most resilient housing markets,” Mix says. “Strong in-migration and job creation will sustain demand. Resale inventory—while increasing—remains tighter than historical levels, underpinning new home absorption.”
She adds that both the City and Province continue to invest in infrastructure that reinforces Calgary’s long-term value proposition, making the developments of this award-winning builder and developer even more attractive.
Demand is strong in Cardel’s new southwest community of Silverton, where they offer front-drive and laned homes. The adjacent Metro One condo development is also receiving plenty of attention despite strong competition in the area. The flagship Shawnee Park community in the southwest has just released a new phase even as it approaches completion.
